Weekly Recap

Welcome back, Stimson families! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Spring Recess. As we return to school, we’re excited to share some wonderful highlights from before the break and look ahead to a busy and productive week.
Our National Junior Honor Society students had an unforgettable trip to Washington D.C.! From touring historic landmarks to bonding with classmates, it was an inspiring journey filled with learning, laughter, and leadership. We’re so proud of the way our students represented Stimson with pride and respect.
A huge shoutout to the many talented musicians who participated in NYSSMA! Their dedication, preparation, and passion for music were on full display. Thank you to our amazing music teachers for supporting and encouraging our students through this enriching experience.
From academic achievements to acts of kindness, we’ve had so much to celebrate at Stimson. Our students continue to impress us with their commitment to learning and community. Keep up the great work!

This week, we jump right back into action with the NYS Math Assessments taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure students are well-rested and arrive on time to do their best.
We’re looking forward to another fun-filled and inspiring week at Stimson Middle School.

Long Island History Day Award Winner!

The 2025 Long Island History Day Richard Marks Outstanding Entry on Long Island History Award, sponsored by the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, has been awarded to 8th grader Benjamin Tavera for his powerful Junior Individual Documentary entitled “Levittown: The Dark Secret Behind America's Most Famous Suburb.”
This prestigious award honors the best student project highlighting an important aspect of Long Island history. Ben’s documentary explores the lesser-known truths behind the iconic post-war suburb of Levittown, shedding light on its social and historical impact through original research and compelling storytelling.
In recognition of his achievement, Ben received a $100 prize and the distinction of being named this year’s recipient of the Richard Marks Outstanding Entry Award.
The Long Island History Day competition is part of National History Day, a nationwide program that encourages students to engage with the past through in-depth research, creativity, and academic excellence.

Welcome to Breakfast at Stimson

This school year our Nutrition Program will be providing both breakfast and lunch meals at no charge to all of our students. For school arrival each morning, we have placed kiosks at the different entrances to the building; each one stocked with breakfast choices for our students. The locations were chosen to make sure everyone can "grab" a quick breakfast and be on their way to homeroom in a timely fashion.

Make your family mornings a bit less hectic and join us for breakfast !!
