Last week at Stimson Middle School was packed with purpose, excitement, and Wildcat Pride!
Our school spirit remains exceptionally high thanks to the action on the playing fields. We're still feeling the momentum from Walt Whitman's Homecoming, which was a huge community success, demonstrating true Wildcat spirit throughout the carnival, parade, and a thrilling Powder Puff game. Right here on campus, our Stimson Middle School Soccer team has continued to impress, competing fiercely in their recent face-offs and showing great teamwork in every match.
Beyond athletics, this week is dedicated to vital community and character initiatives. We are excited to recognize Red Ribbon Week, focusing on making positive, healthy decisions and reminding our students and families about the importance of living a drug-free life. Today, we are proud to be hosting our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser Walk this afternoon. This meaningful tradition invites everyone—students, staff, family, and neighbors—to join us as we walk to raise awareness and honor those in the South Huntington community impacted by cancer. Please remember to wear pink to show your support!
As the week wraps up, we have some fantastic fun planned. This Thursday, October 30th, students can look forward to the lively Fall Festival Dance, which promises to be a great time for everyone. Finally, we're all ready for a festive Halloween on Friday! Students ARE permitted to wear costumes to school, but we must emphasize two important rules for the day: for safety and security, NO FACE COVERINGS and NO PROPS THAT RESEMBLE WEAPONS are allowed. Let's finish the week strong, embracing our community spirit and having some spooky, safe fun!
