What an absolutely sensational week at Stimson Middle School!
We are officially gearing up for the launch of our Winter I Sports Season! Get ready for thrilling competition and school spirit as our incredible student-athletes prepare to take the court! This is your chance to shine and represent Stimson!
Inside the walls of our school, the learning is anything but ordinary. Our classrooms are truly bursting with innovation, imagination, and focused reading. Students are transforming ideas into reality, diving into powerful literature, and sharpening the critical skills needed for tomorrow.
This past week, we also took a moment for a profoundly important reflection. We honored the immense sacrifices of our U.S. Military Veterans. It was a moving tribute as we placed American Flags on our front lawn, a beautiful display recognizing the family members and friends of Stimson students who have served in the U.S. military.
Looking ahead, get ready for an exceptional week! We are thrilled to host our Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. This is a crucial opportunity for us to connect, celebrate student successes, and plan for continued academic growth.
Please remember this important note for the close of the week: Students will be dismissed early on Friday at 10:45 am.

Reading Challenge Accepted!

In September, Ms. Green challenged each of her students to read 20 books during this school year. They start off every class reading their independent reading books for 10 minutes. They have been rocking it! Ms. Green has also asked students for book/genre recommendations and added approximately 200 titles to her classroom library through donations and thrifting so that she has high interest titles for her students to choose from.

As of today, Ms. Green's 8th graders have read 161 books! Ms. Green and Stimson Middle School are so proud of how our students have embraced this challenge of reading this school year!

Cell Phone Policy Updates

Stimson students may not use their cell phones during the school day. Students MUST secure their phones in their lockers at the start of the school day where it will be stored until dismissal. We will be communicating this to students regularly throughout the month of September. As of October 1st, any student found with their cell phone during the school day will have their phone taken and held until the end of the day where they can pick it up at dismissal. If a student is found to have their phone a second time, their phone will be taken and held until a parent or guardian can pick it up from school. Additional instances will result in detention.
