Stimson Spotlights

While the outside air remains brisk, the real focus at Stimson Middle School is on the fact that we are just warming up as we head into the third quarter. We have officially reached the second half of the school year, and this is the time when staying focused and giving a consistent effort truly pays off. It can be easy to lose a bit of steam mid-winter, but we encourage every student to treat this new quarter as a fresh start to do their absolute best. Whether you are tackling new projects or mastering challenging concepts, the momentum we build now will carry us through to the spring. Let’s keep moving forward with purpose and finish this half of the year even stronger than we started.

Congratulations to Our January PRIDE Award Recipients

Well Done, Science Bowl Team!

The SMS Science Bowl team finished 2–2 on Thursday, 1/29, with several very close matches. They also toured the facility, including the National Synchrotron Light Source II, and competed in the STEM Challenge. In addition, they participated in the STEM Expo, where they explored engaging demonstrations on mineral fluorescence, a particle accelerator, and other exciting STEM topics!

Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Participants

Congratulations to first place winner, Sam. Special shout out to Rania and Sawyer for their excellent performance!

Cell Phone Policy Updates

Stimson students may not use their cell phones during the school day. Students MUST secure their phones in their lockers at the start of the school day where it will be stored until dismissal. We will be communicating this to students regularly throughout the month of September. As of October 1st, any student found with their cell phone during the school day will have their phone taken and held until a parent or guardian can pick it up from school. Additional instances will result in detention.
