🍂 Stimson Spotlight 🍂

Side view wildcat

October is off to a great start at Stimson! The fall season has brought plenty of energy to our building, with students getting involved, showing school spirit, and continuing to make positive contributions to our school community. This month also gives us many opportunities to come together around important causes, celebrate student character and leadership, and recognize the people who make Stimson such a special place each day. From activities and athletics to special events and recognitions, there is a lot happening throughout our building. We are excited to share some of the highlights and look forward to all that the rest of October has in store!

Stimson Goes Pink

Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we come together to honor those who have been impacted by breast cancer and show our support for individuals and families affected by the disease. By wearing pink, raising awareness, and coming together as a community, we can show our support, hope, and remembrance.

Stimson will continue this recognition with our annual Breast Cancer Walk on
Monday, October 19th at 3:15 PM.
We hope our students and staff will join us as we walk together for this important cause.

PRIDE in Action

We were excited to celebrate our first Stimson PRIDE Award recipients of the year! Each month, staff nominate students who demonstrate the qualities at the heart of Stimson PRIDE: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Empathy. What makes this recognition so special is that it celebrates not only what our students accomplish, but also the kind of classmates, leaders, and members of our school community they are. These students lead by example and represent the very best of Stimson. Congratulations to our September recipients!

Wildcats Caught Being Kind

Our Caught Being Kind recognition is back this year! This special program shines a light on the everyday moments of kindness, thoughtfulness, respect, and positivity happening throughout Stimson. Whether it is helping a classmate, offering encouragement, including someone who may feel left out, or simply taking the time to brighten someone’s day, these actions make a difference. Throughout the year, our staff will continue to recognize students who go out of their way to make Stimson a kinder and more welcoming place. We are proud to celebrate our Wildcats and remind our students that even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact!

The Votes Are In!

Congratulations to our newly elected 7th Grade Class Officers! We are proud of all of the students who stepped forward to run for office, share their ideas, and take an active role in our school community. Thank you as well to our 7th graders who participated in the election and cast their votes. We look forward to seeing our new officers represent their classmates and help make this a great year at Stimson!

Celebrating Our Amazing Custodial Team

Stimson recently celebrated National Custodian Day and took the opportunity to recognize our incredible custodial team for all they do each day. Their hard work helps keep our building clean, safe, and welcoming, and so much of what they do happens behind the scenes. Pictured are members of our daytime custodial crew, but we also want to extend a big thank you to our entire custodial team, including our evening crew, for everything they do to keep Stimson looking its best!

Cell Phone Policy Updates

Stimson students may not use their cell phones during the school day. Students MUST secure their phones in their lockers at the start of the school day where it will be stored until dismissal. We will be communicating this to students regularly throughout the month of September. As of October 1st, any student found with their cell phone during the school day will have their phone taken and held until a parent or guardian can pick it up from school. Additional instances will result in detention.
